Step 1: Install Outlook

1. Install and open new outlook from the Microsoft store.

Step 2: Make use of IMAP

2. On the right you will see suggested accounts, but we will make use of IMAP as this is recommended.

Step 3: Domain

3. For this example, we are going to make use of the domain web-development-1.co.za but obviously this will be replaced with your domain.

Step 4: Copy Username/Email

4. Copy your username/email address and paste it into the suggested account box.

Step 5: Continue To Add Your Email

5. Click on continue.

Step 6: Select IMAP

6. After it has finished loading you will be able to select an email provider. Make sure to select IMAP.

Step 7: Paste Password

7. Paste your password that has been given to you when your email has been created.

8. Make sure that show more and recommended settings are both selected.

Step 9: Checks

9. Now it should have filled in the boxes, but we should still check these. So have your email details with you and make sure they match with each other. Incoming server will be the same as your incoming server on your email set up details. Ports should be the same and SSL/TLS should also be the same.

Step 10: Check SMTP

10. Scroll down a little bit more and check again. SMTP username will just be your email again.

Step 11: SMTP Password

11. SMTP password will need to be changed to be the same password you have been given or created from the start. It is the password to your email. This is the same password for incoming and outgoing.

Step 12: Check STMP, Port, Secure Connection

12. Check the STMP outgoing server, the port number (465) and the secure connection type are matching up with your email details.

Step 13: Continue To Next Step

13. Then once they have been checked and are correct you can then click continue.

Step 14: Sync IMAP

14. Then you can click continue again.

Step 15: Microsoft Privacy

15. Then you will see Microsoft respects your privacy message and it gives you information on all that. You can then click Next.

Step 16: Optional Data

16. Then it will ask if you want to send optional data to them. You can if you want but we just click no, don’t send optional data.

Step 17: Accept Your Preferences

17. Then click accept.

Step 18: Powering Your Experience

18.Then it will say about Powering your experiences. Click on continue.

Step 19: Making Outlook Look Familiar

19. Then it will say about making your outlook look familiar and you can apply your own settings but for this case we will just click skip.

20.  Now you will be able to see that you have added your webmail to the new outlook for desktop.
